The Berlin Football Association is "Ready for Responsibility". In order to live up to this responsibility, the BFV pursues a holistic approach to sustainability in the areas of economy, ecology and social issues. For the future, this means continuing to design internal processes in line with sustainability aspects and communicating the social significance of sustainability to society via the Berlin clubs. Because one thing is clear: the Berlin Football Association wants to act in a proactive, innovative, courageous and future-oriented manner, and prioritizing sustainability issues is essential for this.
The Berlin Football Association is in the process of developing a concept and a holistic sustainability strategy based on it. The basic framework for action is defined by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The Berlin Football Association's overarching objective of becoming the most innovative and professional regional association in the German Football Association (Future BFV) also sets the course for its commitment to sustainability in the coming years. This project can only go hand in hand with the professionalization of the BFV's sustainability work. In addition, the BFV would like to act as a point of contact for the Berlin clubs and support and advise them on the path to a more sustainable future.
The future of the Berlin Football Association and its clubs also depends on its long-term orientation with regard to economic factors. For the BFV, this means ensuring regulated and crisis-proof business operations in the coming years on the one hand, and fundamentally strengthening the finances of Berlin's soccer clubs in a crisis-proof manner on the other. In order to be able to meet its own responsibilities, the ability to act economically must be guaranteed at all times, always taking into account compliance and transparency aspects. The BFV clubs are to be advised, trained and supported with regard to future-proof finances in order to ensure a secure approach to club tax law, accounting and contribution management.
The Berlin Football Association is also concerned with involving stakeholders in the transformation processes in and around the association's day-to-day operations, as demonstrated in the Future BFV project, for example, because for the BFV, economic sustainability always goes hand in hand with transparent communication about the values it lives by, current developments and its future direction. In this way, the Berlin Football Association relies on long-term and sustainable partnerships that need to be maintained and expanded or supplemented by examining alternative forms of financing.
Ecology
"BFV goes green":
Extreme weather conditions such as periods of heat and drought, torrential rain or storms are already posing ever greater challenges for the Berlin soccer landscape. The consequences are far-reaching: from match cancellations and fragmented match schedules to increasing health risks for all players and a lack of resources, such as water to irrigate the pitches. The changing framework conditions are already threatening soccer in its current form, which everyone loves.
In order to counteract this development and live up to its own responsibility, Berlin soccer is committed to taking action.
All future ecological activities at the Berlin Football Association will initially be carried out under the slogan "BFV goes green". It sets out the association's path to a greener future.
