The Legal and Statutes Committee meets as required. It should meet in good time in the run-up to association meetings or to review statutes and regulations. Necessary amendments to the statutes are submitted to the BFV Executive Committee in the form of recommendations.

The tasks of the Legal and Statutes Committee are

• advising the Presidium and the Advisory Board on legal and statutory issues
• Preparing proposals for statutes and regulations and examining incoming proposals for the Association Congress and the Advisory Board meeting
• Incorporating the resolutions of the Association Congress and Advisory Board into the statutes and regulations
• Discussing the interpretation of the legal and procedural regulations
• Conducting hearings on the resumption of proceedings
• Ongoing review of the statutes and regulations with regard to
  • Compatibility with applicable laws and current case law
  • Compatibility with the requirements of higher-level associations
  • practicability with regard to changing circumstances in the course of the association's activities
• Qualification of the members of the legal bodies
