In the "Dustren Keller", a club pub in Bergmannstraße, representatives of seven Berlin clubs found the Verband Deutscher Ballspielvereine (VDB).
January 28, 1900
On the initiative of Georg Demmler from Berlin, the German Football Association (DFB) is founded in Leipzig in the presence of many Berlin club representatives.
1902
After the Berlin clubs join the DFB, the Verband Deutscher Ballspielvereine is renamed the Verband Berliner Ballspielvereine (VBB).
1911
Under pressure from the DFB, the Verband Berliner Ballspielvereine merges with the Märkischer Fußball-Bund and the Verband Berliner Athletik-Vereine and is henceforth known as the Verband Brandenburgischer Ballspielvereine (VBB).
1933
The DFB and VBB effectively dissolve themselves and are incorporated into the National Socialist Reichsbund für Leibesübungen as the soccer department. In its territorial structure, Berlin and Brandenburg become "Gau III".
1945
After the end of the Second World War, organized sport in Berlin is dissolved and the clubs are banned by the Allies; soccer is organized in district sports associations instead.
2 December 1949
After organized sport is permitted again by the Allies, the Berlin Ball Game Clubs Association is re-established in the "Swinemünder Gesellschaftshaus" at Gesundbrunnen.
July 3, 1950
Under the umbrella of the German Sports Committee, the Football Committee is constituted as the predecessor of the German Football Association of the GDR. In December 1950, it is renamed the "Football Section".
May 17/18, 1957
The German Football Association of the GDR (DFV) is founded in East Berlin. From then on, match operations in the eastern part of the city are organized by the district soccer committee.
1985
The Association of Berlin Football Clubs is renamed the Berlin Football Association (BFV) following a decision by the general meeting.
June 22, 1990
The Berlin Football Association is founded in East Berlin with the support of the BFV.
November 17, 1990
After the Berlin Football Association decides to dissolve, the members join the BFV at the extraordinary general meeting at the Hotel Intercontinental. A transfer agreement regulates the details until the regular association meeting in the fall of 1991.
November 20, 1990
The German Football Association of the GDR (DFV) dissolves itself on November 20, 1990 in Leipzig and reconstitutes itself as the Northeast German Football Association (NOFV).

The Berlin Football Association celebrates its 125th anniversary with a ceremony in the Rotes Rathaus.
