BFV Volunteer Day 2025: Well-deserved recognition

On Saturday, March 8, this year's BFV Volunteer Day took place at the Haus des Fußballs. The Berlin Football Association has been hosting this event since 1999 to honor particularly committed volunteers. In a welcoming speech, BFV President Bernd Schultz emphasized the immense importance of volunteer work in the Berlin soccer landscape. The video trailer "The most valuable squad in the world" also underlined the importance of volunteering.

DFB Volunteer Award

The opening speech was followed by the presentation of the DFB Volunteer Award, which was hosted by Jonas Tylewski. Volunteers were honored in blocks of two by Bernd Schultz and Ingo Büchner-Fenner, the state honorary office representative:

DFB Honorary Award, special honors: Club 100

In addition, four particularly committed volunteers were included in the Club 100 in a special award ceremony, for which the DFB award ceremony will take place in Dortmund in spring 2025. Furthermore, those honored will be invited to Leipzig for a thank-you weekend organized by the regional associations of Westphalia, Saxony and Berlin:

The "Young Heroes" category also honored volunteers up to the age of 30, who were presented with their awards by Bernd Schultz and Lisa Marie Großer, member of the Young Generation U30 executive committee:

Young heroes, special honors

Special recognition was also given to the following volunteers, who were presented with special awards. In addition, their commitment will be rewarded and honored with an educational trip to Spain this summer.

Finally, Ingo Büchner-Fenner thanked the invited guests before the brunch was opened. As a special highlight, the guests then traveled together by bus, transported by the new BFV cooperation partner BVB, to the Olympic Stadium, where the honorees were invited by Hertha BSC to attend the home game against Schalke 04.

The BFV would like to thank all volunteers who are a very important pillar of Berlin's soccer. The BFV is also calling on all clubs to nominate committed members for the Volunteer Award. A corresponding application form will be communicated soon.
