The project "Mädchenfußball in Berlin - Alle kicken mit!" ("Girls' soccer in Berlin - everyone kicks along!") by the Berlin Football Association was launched in 2012 to enable girls of primary school age to participate in low-threshold, rhythmic sports activities in their familiar surroundings, such as school or the local sports club. The project work also takes into account the integration of the group of girls with a migration background, who are otherwise underrepresented in clubs, and aims to give girls from socially disadvantaged families access to exercise programs through predominantly free measures.
The project consists of four main components:
- Working groups
- vacation camps
- tournaments
- Qualification
Through these measures, the project aims to get girls interested in soccer and offer them a safe space in which they can make their first contact with the ball without prejudice or stereotypes. Another aim is to enable girls to enter organized sport as easily as possible. To this end, each soccer club cooperates with a nearby soccer club in order to get as many girls as possible involved in club sports. This cooperation creates a bridge for a smooth transition from the project activities to regular club life. Further information on the project and the opportunity to participate in the project can be found on the official project website.
