Goalkeeper basic course

Are you already training goalkeepers or would you like to join the club as a coach in the future? The goalkeeper basic course offers a practical introduction to modern and performance-oriented goalkeeper training. The course combines flexible online learning units with intensive practical days on the pitch.

Overall, the diagram shows a chronological sequence of alternating online and attendance phases, starting with online, then attendance phase 1, online again, then attendance phase 2 and finally a concluding point.

Training objectives

Goalkeeper coaches should acquire a wide range of skills for their work with the players and within the coaching team according to the age and performance level of their team. In the course, you will acquire skills for planning, implementing and reflecting on training sessions with goalkeepers, always in the context of your team and in interaction with the rest of the coaching team. The content is based on everyday life in amateur soccer and is designed in such a way that you can apply it directly in your club.

Admission requirements & documents

  • Minimum age 15 years
  • Membership of a DFB club (active/passive)
  • Extended certificate of good conduct (date of issue not older than three months)
  • Full participation in all parts of the course (online & face-to-face)

FAQ

When will I receive my access data?

You will receive the access data for the "Edubreak" learning platform by e-mail on the first day of the course.

How do the online phases work? Are there fixed dates when I have to be present?

In the online phases, you work on various tasks before, between and after the face-to-face phases. These have deadlines, but can be completed flexibly within this period. There are generally no fixed online deadlines with compulsory attendance.

Can I work on the online assignments via the Edubreak app?

We recommend editing via the browser, as the app currently only works to a limited extent and does not display all tasks and content in full. All functions are reliably available to you via the browser.

I am unable to attend the attendance phase, what do I have to do?

Participation in all attendance phases is mandatory. If you are unable to attend due to illness, please inform us immediately by sending an email to qualifizierung@spam.berlinerfv.de and submit a doctor's certificate or sick note. This will enable us to arrange a catch-up date together.

The attendance phase overlaps with my training or my game, what now?

Please plan your participation well in advance and coordinate with your club in good time so that you can be represented during the attendance phases. Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave early or skip individual dates.

Until when can I cancel the course free of charge?

Your participation can be canceled free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the course. This does not apply to short-term absences due to illness after submission of a medical certificate/sick note.

I am not an active member of the club, can I still take part in the goalkeeper basic course?

Yes, active membership is not mandatory for participation, passive membership is also sufficient.

Do I need to bring sports gear for the attendance phase?

Yes, please bring both sportswear and writing utensils to the attendance phases. If you are unable to actively participate for health reasons, we require a medical certificate in advance.

Is there a catering service during the attendance phases?

Lunch is included in the price for courses at the Wannsee Sports School. No meals are usually provided at decentralized locations. Should there be an offer there, we will inform you in good time.

Is there a final exam?

There is no traditional final examination. You will receive tasks for the individual sections of the course, which you can use to demonstrate your skills.

How and when do I receive my certificate?

As soon as all parts of the course have been successfully completed and we have received the required documents, your certificate will be sent to you by e-mail.

What happens after that?

You can register for a corresponding DFB Basic Coach to continue on the path to a C license. Following the DFB Basic Coach course, you can register for a corresponding C-license profile.
