As the name suggests, the focus of talent development is on individual talent, i.e. the players. The BFV's aim is to provide the best possible personal support for each individual in talent development. To this end, the association forms selection teams, i.e. squads made up of the most talented players of the respective age group. Depending on the age group, a distinction is made between the national squad and the development squad.

The individual junior selection teams are called together at regular intervals for so-called training courses or comparative matches in order to compete with talented players from other national associations. The highlight of the season is regularly the German Football Association (DFB) national cup, in which the most talented players from Germany's 21 national associations compete against each other over several days. These tournaments are the central screening event for the coaches of the DFB's national youth teams. This is where the stars of tomorrow meet and TEAM BERLIN aspires to be one of the best in the country.
