The Berlin Football Association is currently developing a concept and a holistic volunteering strategy based on it.

The Berlin Football Association's overarching goal of becoming the most innovative and professional state association in the German Football Association (Future BFV) also paves the way for strengthening volunteering in the coming years. This project can only go hand in hand with the professionalization and strategic development of the BFV's support for volunteers. In addition, the BFV would like to act as a point of contact for the Berlin clubs and support and advise them on the path to a more sustainable future.

In addition, the work of the Presidium (resolutions) and the Committee for Social Responsibility (right of proposal) includes ensuring strong volunteer structures in Berlin soccer by promoting measures to recruit, recognize and qualify volunteers.

Recruitment of volunteers

Your honorary position in sport

Would you like to get involved with the BFV or a Berlin club, but don't know where and how to take the first step?

Then register at http://formular.berlinerfv.de/BFV/ehrenamt-im-sport/. We will then match you to a club or area within the association according to your skills and preferences.

How does it work and how does it work?

  1. You register in the form.

  2. We will call you back and ask you about further skills, strengths and preferences (duration: approx. 5-10 minutes).

  3. Based on the information you provide, we will look for a volunteer position that suits you and place you accordingly.

We are looking for you!

Whether you're looking for a position as a team manager, sports judge or social responsibility officer, we have the right volunteer position for you. Berlin's largest professional sports association offers you the opportunity to get involved in Germany's most popular sport, soccer, and thus take on a meaningful, social commitment in Berlin.

You can find current volunteer vacancies at http://berliner-fussball-verband.jobs.personio.de/ .

Are there currently no volunteer positions available? Then write to our volunteer officer or register your interest in volunteering at http://formular.berlinerfv.de/BFV/ehrenamt-im-sport/ .

Event commitment:
Are you looking for a short-term event commitment or a temporary volunteer position? Then the BFV offers you the opportunity to get involved as a volunteer or in the BFV event team. You can find out exactly what this means, which events you can apply for and the right people to contact at https://www.berliner-fussball.de/veranstaltungen/event-engagement/ .

Young generation U30

How can young people be encouraged to volunteer? What incentives can the clubs and the association create? The BFV deals with questions like these very intensively. To this end, the "Young Generation U30" (formerly U27) department was created by a resolution of the association's Annual General Meeting in August 2021.

Anyone under the age of 30 who is interested in volunteering in Berlin soccer and would like to get involved in the interests of the "young generation" in the future is cordially invited to contact Lisa Marie Großer by email (lisamarie.grosser@spam.berlinerfv.de).

Recognition and appreciation

BFV Rules of Honor

The BFV has an honorary order according to which it honors its members for many years of meritorious activities up to the present or for extraordinary sporting achievements, in accordance with § 6 No. 2. j) of the BFV statutes. This can be viewed here: BFV RULES OF HONOR.

Would you like to propose an award? Then please use the online application form.

LSB Rules of Honor

The Landessportbund Berlin (LSB Berlin) offers the opportunity to present awards in recognition of many years of commendable voluntary work for sport in Berlin: Click here for the LSB honorary regulations.

The LSB also offers further opportunities to say thank you to club members and to honor them appropriately. On the following page you will find a list of various honorary and award opportunities as well as information on the award criteria and how to apply: LSB homepage Recognition.

What else does the BFV do?

A strong culture of appreciation is needed to strengthen volunteering in the long term. The BFV tries to reflect this through a variety of measures for its volunteers.

  • With us, you can get involved in soccer in Berlin, and thus for the common good of the capital.

  • You can take on responsibility with us, but you don't have to. But it should be more fulfilling than stressful.

  • We try to guarantee time flexibility and the best possible digital support for your voluntary work.

  • We foster a positive culture of communication between volunteers and full-time staff so that mutual support and appreciation are the basis for good cooperation.

  • Allowances for voluntary work are covered and paid within the scope of the volunteer allowance or reimbursement of costs, which are regulated in § 5 of the BFV statutes.

  • Depending on budgetary and capacity possibilities, the affiliation to "Team Berlin" is regularly made visible through clothing and equipment.

  • The BFV regularly invites its volunteers to events. If the budget and character of the event allow, this is done in company whenever possible, as the partner indirectly contributes to the organization of amateur soccer due to the volunteers' absence.

  • We offer community, belonging, consistency and further development and want to promote this accordingly.

  • Together, we are ONE TEAM BERLIN, committed to Berlin soccer and making it possible.
