Men's DFB Cup final to remain in Berlin until 2030

The German Football Association (DFB) and the state of Berlin have agreed to extend the staging of the men's DFB Cup final in Berlin's Olympic Stadium. The traditional final will therefore continue to be held in the capital for the next five years.

DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said: "The DFB Cup final in Berlin is an integral part of German soccer and a real highlight for fans and clubs. The final in the Olympic Stadium stands for tradition, emotion and sporting excellence - values that make the cup so unique. By extending it until 2030, we are sending out a clear signal: We want to continue to offer fans an incomparable experience and preserve the special atmosphere of this final. We look forward to continuing this success story together with Berlin."

Holger Blask, DFB General Secretary, said: "The DFB Cup final is not only a sporting highlight, but also an important economic factor for German soccer and the city of Berlin. The appeal of the competition ensures high media coverage and attractive marketing opportunities - both for the DFB and for the participating clubs. By extending the competition until 2030, we are also creating planning security for clubs, fans, partners and sponsors and strengthening the economic basis of the entire cup competition."

Bernd Schultz, President of the Berlin Football Association, says: "The DFB Cup final is much more than just a top-class soccer match for the sports metropolis of Berlin. It is an event that brings people from all over Germany together and inspires them. The event is an impressive demonstration of the power of sport: It connects, it inspires and it opens doors - especially for voluntary work. Many Berliners find their way into the clubs through inspiring moments such as those created by a DFB Cup final. The fact that the cup final will remain in Berlin until 2030 not only strengthens our position as a leading sports metropolis, but also provides new impetus for commitment and participation in Berlin amateur soccer."

The infrastructure of the Olympic Stadium will also be further improved as part of the extension. A central component is the expansion of the south entrance to make access easier for fans and reduce waiting times. These requirements are a result of the analysis of the 2025 Cup final(to the results analysis).

The Olympiastadion has been the stage for the DFB Cup final for men since 1985. With the extension until 2030, the DFB is sending a clear signal for continuity and quality - and for an incomparable cup final in one of the most beautiful arenas in Europe.
