On Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, member of the Presidential Youth Committee Frank Schröder hosted the youth committee's New Year's reception at the Haus des Fußballs. Numerous guests accepted his invitation and ensured a successful start to the new year of Berlin youth soccer.

Honors for special services
In addition to the members of the Youth Committee and the Youth Advisory Board, BFV President Bernd Schultz, Member of the Presidential Board for Match Operations Joachim Gaertner and Viljo Anlauf, Deputy Chairman of Sportjugend Berlin, also attended the reception.
After a detailed review of the year 2025 by Frank Schröder and a welcoming address by President Bernd Schultz, the focus was on honoring deserving committed players.
Andreas Kupper received the BFV's Golden Badge of Honor for his special services to youth soccer in Berlin. Thomas Rother (SV Adler Berlin) and Frank Tänzler (TSV Lichtenberg) were awarded the Silver Badge of Honor.
In addition, the youth committee honored five clubs for their outstanding training work as part of the DFB bonus system: SV Empor Berlin, SFC Friedrichshain, Viktoria Mitte, Tennis Borussia Berlin, Viktoria 89 Berlin and Hertha 03 Zehlendorf.
Following the official part of the event, the third half offered all those present the opportunity to socialize within the Berlin youth football family.
