A real highlight awaits in the 2nd main round of the COSY-WASCH State Cup for men's 1st division at 14:30 at the Fischerstraße sports ground (Fischerstr. 15, 10317 Berlin): SV Sparta Lichtenberg will host the eagerly awaited derby against Lichtenberg 47 on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The match is the official "Match of the Day" and will be covered by the BFV media.
With a tailwind into the second round
Both Lichtenberg clubs were already in impressive form in the first round: At B-league side Chemie Adlershof, the Spartans beat the hosts with a clear 14:1 victory. Lichtenberg 47 also left no doubt about their progress at FSV Fortuna Pankow: With six goals already in the first half, the game was decided early on, with a commanding 7:0 on the scoreboard at the end.
Confident start in the league
Both teams also got off to a flying start in the league. With three wins each from four league games, both teams started the season almost identically. Thanks to their attacking powerhouse, Spartans currently have the best goal difference in the league and are therefore in first place. Lichtenberg 47, on the other hand, suffered an unfortunate 2:1 defeat against Tasmania on the previous matchday.
Revenge guaranteed: Double derby within a week
Sunday's cup tie is just the start of an intense week of derbies in Lichtenberg. The two clubs will meet again just six days later - then in the NOFV-Oberliga at the HOWOGE-Arena "Hans Zoschke" (Normannenstraße 28, 10365 Berlin). The team that lost in the cup will thus have a direct opportunity for revenge.
The winner of the third round of the state cup and the first district derby of the season will be decided on the pitch on Sunday. As usual, the Berlin Football Association will provide media coverage, including in the Instagram story, for all those who cannot be there.
