Future shapers wanted

Soccer's commitment to social development is not only evident in the work of soccer foundations, but also in the daily activities of grassroots football clubs. This great social force should be made visible, appreciated and rewarded. Since 2022, Fußball stiftet Zukunft e.V. has honored five clubs each year for their outstanding commitment to social and ecological issues. The Deutsche Postcode Lotterie is also involved as a sponsor and award partner.

We are looking for successful association initiatives from all parts of Germany that are innovatively and creatively committed to equal opportunities, social cohesion or nature and environmental protection. This year, there is a particular focus on approaches that shape the future through movement, encounters and education.

The five most outstanding applications will be selected by a jury from the Football Founds the Future network on the basis of their forward-looking approach, project implementation and the effectiveness of their commitment. Prominent faces on the jury are soccer world and European champion Renate Lingor, former Bundesliga player Carmen Höfflin and former VfL Wolfsburg goal scorer Roy Präger. All three are also active in various roles at FsZ member organizations.

The Future Prize is endowed with prize money totaling 25,000 euros, and the FsZ network also offers all prizewinners support in terms of content and communication. The Future Prize will be awarded on November 18, 2025 at the DFB Campus in Frankfurt am Main. Socially committed grassroots football clubs can submit their project applications until September 30.

About Fußball stiftet Zukunft e.V.

"Fußball stiftet Zukunft" (FsZ) is the strong voice of soccer foundations in Germany. The network consists of more than thirty foundations or foundation-like institutions established by associations, clubs and individual soccer personalities. The FsZ members are committed to social issues in various ways. For example, they implement their own projects and programs, operate youth welfare facilities and promote civic engagement among young people. Their work is as diverse as the challenges facing soccer and our society in these times. The aim of the FsZ network is to strengthen the interaction between the foundations through regular exchange, input from donors and experts and peer-to-peer advice. FsZ is therefore also a platform for learning from and with each other. In addition, the association offers the opportunity to give a powerful voice to social commitment from within soccer and to strengthen the role of the members in their respective sphere of influence.
