These are the "Berlin footballers of the 2024/2025 season"

Between June 10 and July 2, 2025, Berliners voted for their "Footballer of the Season 2024/2025". A total of around 14,000 people took part in the online poll, which the Berlin Football Association has been organizing since 2011 together with the Soccer Week and the German Class Lottery Berlin together since 2011.

After Fabian Reese and Karsten Heine were announced as the winners of the "Professional Footballer" and "Amateur Coach" categories on July 7 (to the article), the winners of the "Female Footballer" and "Amateur Footballer" categories have now also been announced: Elfie Wellhausen (Hertha BSC Women) and Änis Ben-Hatira (Hertha BSC U23) came out on top in their respective categories from a total of eight nominees.

Berlin footballer of the season 2024/2025: Elfie Wellhausen

With 31.3 percent of the votes, Berliners voted Elfie Wellhausen from the Hertha BSC women's team as their "Female Footballer of the Season". The 19-year-old thus defended her title from the previous year. Lisa Heiseler (1. FC Union Berlin; 21.1 percent) and Ronja Borchmeyer (Hertha BSC; 19.7 percent) followed in second and third place.

Wellhausen, who has also played for the BFV selection teams in the past, seamlessly continued her strong debut season in her second year in the regional league. With 27 goals in 16 appearances, she not only became the top scorer in the Regionalliga Nordost, but also the third most successful scorer in all five German regional leagues. Thanks in part to her performances, the Hertha women secured the runners-up spot behind FC Viktoria Berlin.

Elfie Wellhausen says: "I'm delighted with this title, but I'm even happier about the confidence and the votes of the fans, friends and fellow players. Above all, I would like to thank my team from the bottom of my heart. I would never have scored all those goals without you. That's why this title not only stands for me and Hertha BSC, but especially for our entire team."
