The wait is over: On Saturday, May 23rd, another highlight of our cup season will take place with the final day of the amateurs. VSG Altglienicke and BFC Dynamo will meet in the final of the COSY-WASCH State Cup for the 1st men at the Mommsenstadion. Referee Sven Schröder and his assistants Johann Schwarz, Florian Alexander Meer and Benjamin Pilgrim will kick off the final match at 11:30 am. Amateur final day: regional league duel at eye level
It's all about the sausage!
Even before kick-off, everything is set for a colorful morning of soccer. It's clear to everyone involved: the title is at stake, participation in the first round of the DFB Cup is at stake - in short: it's all about the sausage.
Both teams have secured their place in the final with convincing performances in the past few rounds and are going into the match with clear ambitions. It is not an unfamiliar duel: the two have met regularly in the Regionalliga Nordost for years. The closeness of the encounter was also evident this season, with both the first and second legs ending in draws. However, this is not an option on Saturday, as there will inevitably be a decider.
Who will crown their season?
For VSG Altglienicke, the final is the highlight of an intense season. The anticipation is correspondingly high, as head coach Dan Twardzik emphasizes: "With the season we now have behind us, the match against BFC is of course our highlight." After a temporary dry spell, his team regained its strength towards the end of the season, and thanks to targeted work on self-confidence, the team secured sixth place in the end and can now fully enjoy the final: "The two best teams of the cup season will meet and this stage belongs to the boys so that they can show themselves."
BFC Dynamo, on the other hand, will arrive as the defending champions, but have a differentiated view of their starting position. "One thing is clear: we're not the favourites, Altglienicke are," emphasized head coach Sven Körner. "Nevertheless, anything is possible in this game, in the end it's a 50:50 game." His team earned their place in the final with passionate performances: "All the games were characterized by a lot of emotion, a lot of willingness to run and passion."
Two teams, one goal
Both finalists have one clear goal: to win the cup. While VSG would like to crown their development in recent years with a title, BFC want to continue their success story in the COSY-WASCH-Landespokal and win their ninth title. They would also like to return to the DFB Cup stage. Last year, Dynamo fell just short against VfL Bochum.

Even though there are only a few remaining tickets available for Mommsenstadion, the final can be watched live digitally. The match will be streamed live on Sportschau.de and rbb24. In addition, a conference with all of the state cup finals will be broadcast on TV channel Erste. The nationwide TV broadcast will put the spotlight on amateur soccer in Berlin and nationwide and make the final visible beyond the city limits. Karsten Steinmetz will be commentating on our match in the stream, while Lars Becker will be reporting from Berlin in the conference.
