Women's Berlin League Heads into an Exciting Season

The wait is finally over for all players, officials, and fans of women’s amateur soccer in Berlin: This coming weekend, the Women’s Berlin League kicks off its new season! In Berlin’s top division, fans can look forward to an entertaining title race and a nail-biting relegation battle.

Who will be in the running for promotion? Who will be fighting to stay up?

“The anticipation for the start of the Berlin League is immense. We’re heading into the season with many ambitious teams that will make for a very entertaining season,” says Nadine Grund, Executive Board Member for Women and Girls, looking forward to the season opener. She adds: “After Stern 1900 narrowly failed in the promotion playoffs this past spring, the race for promotion remains wide open. A number of teams have a real shot at promotion. All fans can look forward to thrilling top-of-the-table matches.”

Things will be no less exciting at the bottom of the table: Hertha BSC II, the ambitious reserve team of a second-division club, has been promoted, along with Wittenauer SC Concordia, which starts the season with a -3-point penalty due to no-shows. Will the teams succeed in shaking up the Berlin-Liga, or will avoiding relegation be their top priority? And for which teams will the season bring a tight relegation battle?

The new season kicks off on Saturday, August 29, 2026, when Polytan Cup finalist FSV Hansa 07 faces Moabiter FSV at 2:00 p.m. The action continues with exciting matches on Sunday.
