It was with great sadness that the Berlin Football Association received the news that Klemens Bikowski passed away in the night of April 19, 2026 at the age of 83. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all those who accompanied him.
Klemens Bikowski was considered a veteran of Berlin amateur soccer. As a member of 1. FC Schöneberg, he accompanied his favorite club for many years, hardly missed an event and was held in the highest esteem by his fellow club members. Klemens Bikowski was involved in the Berlin Football Association for a long time until the 2000s in the association court and fulfilled his honorary office in terms of law and fairness with great meticulousness and diligence, which made him unforgettable among his former colleagues in the House of Football to this day.
Even after the end of his voluntary work, Klemens Bikowski remained close to the day-to-day life of the association as part of the Council of Elders. He maintained close contact with BFV employees, always kept up to date with all developments in the association and was a welcome guest at association conferences and meetings of the Council of Elders. He also attended the events of the "Alte Pfeifen" and was a member of the Traditionsgemeinschaft des Fußballsports Berlin (VAR) until the end. Humanity and camaraderie were always very important to him. No birthday was forgotten by him and the well-being of his fellow human beings always had priority.
In recognition of his commitment to the Berlin amateur football community, Klemens Bikowski was awarded the Badge of Honor by the BFV in 1992 and the Gold Badge of Honor in 2000. The German Football Association also honored him with its merit pin in 1995. The Berlin Football Association made Klemens Bikowski an honorary member in 2004.
Klemens Bikowski shaped the Berlin Football Association like no other personality. With a great deal of diligence and a big heart for soccer and his companions, he left his mark everywhere in Berlin amateur soccer and made himself unforgettable. We will be eternally grateful to Klemens Bikowski for his commitment.
The funeral service will take place on June 3, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the "Neuer St. Michael Kirchhof" (Gottlieb-Dunkel-Straße 29, 12099 Berlin). Please refrain from flower arrangements.
