TEAM BERLIN in Lindow

At the latest NOFV regional tournament, the comparative tournament of all six state associations in the NOFV, in Lindow, the Berlin U14 junior girls' selection of the BFV met the teams from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Thuringia. The matches not only offered the players exciting competitions, but also the opportunity to develop their skills at a high level and gain important experience.

Strong morale and courageous offensive play

In all three games, the Berlin team showed phases of appealing combination play and great commitment. The team was particularly challenged in dealing with deficits, which had to be overcome in each game. With a great deal of passion and team spirit, the players managed to score deserved equalizers in the first two games against Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (1:1, victory on penalties) and Brandenburg (2:2). The team also showed morale against Thuringia and fought their way back from 2:2 down, but were ultimately beaten 4:2. In the end, the team finished in fifth place.

Important steps at a high competitive level

The tournament matches in Lindow made it clear how important it is to give the players regular opportunities to compete at a high level. Despite the inconsistent results, the Berlin selection impressed with their resilience and willingness to continue developing.

Coach Lukas Fechner summarized: "The players gained important experience in all the games. It was noticeable that the pace and intensity is not an everyday occurrence for the players. We are particularly proud of their morale and tireless commitment. These matches have once again shown what we need to continue working on together in order to take the next step in their development."

With the impressions from the tournament, the Berlin U14s are optimistic about the upcoming international cup in Duisburg.
