The 11mm Football Film Festivalone of the largest of its kind in the world, is about to enter its 21st edition. From March 26 to 30, 2026, the Filmtheater Colosseum in Prenzlauer Berg (Schönhauser Allee 123, 10437 Berlin) will be the venue for over 40 feature-length and short films from 18 countries for the second time, all of which, as always, have one thing in common: to illuminate and illuminate the fascination of soccer on film.
In the year of the FIFA Men's World Cup, it was once again difficult for the organizers to make a selection from the wealth of submissions: to name just a few outstanding examples, the curated program ranges from documentaries about legends such as Peter Schmeichel, Kenny Dalglish and Luis Enrique to a fascinating look at ultra groups around the world and a touching documentary about a transgender referee in Israel to a retrospective of legendary soccer films such as "Die wilden Kerle", "Kes" and "Shaolin Soccer". Traditionally, the "Short Kicks" form the conclusion of the five-day festival with a diverse short film program; on this evening, the winners of the large and young jury are also announced, the audience's favourite is chosen and the best short film is selected by the Short Kicks jury.
