Due to the persistent winter weather with snow and frost and the resulting closure of numerous sports facilities by the sports authorities, training operations in Berlin soccer continue to be severely restricted. Even if significantly warmer temperatures are expected at the weekend, the Berlin Football Association is responding to the wishes of numerous clubs and is suspending all competitive matches in all regular leagues up to and including Sunday, February 22, 2026. This is to ensure that the teams can prepare adequately for the second half of the season in the interests of injury prevention and equal opportunities. The matches that have been canceled will be rescheduled by the season managers.
Test matches, training sessions and recreational matches can take place if the pitches are cleared by the relevant sports authorities. Matches at DFB and NOFV level remain unaffected by the BFV cancellations. Here too, however, individual matches may be canceled due to weather conditions. Indoor tournaments and futsal matches will take place as planned.
