One Team Berlin: New BFV organizational structure supports strategy

At the 2025 Ordinary Association Day, the voting delegates decided, among other things, to introduce a new club and association development strategy for Berlin soccer. Under the umbrella of the Team Berlin strategy, which the BFV will develop together with its members from July 1, 2026, the next steps will be taken on the way to a future-oriented amateur soccer with strong clubs and a modern association structure. The starting signal for this process was given at the Team Berlin kick-off dialog on 23 January 2026 (see article).

"The last four years have been dominated by the 'Future BFV' project, which has led to the modernization and professionalization of the Berlin Football Association," explains Managing Director Kevin Langner. "The Team Berlin strategy builds on this foundation and is intended to strengthen our clubs in the coming years and make them fit for the future. As management, we are convinced that we will be particularly effective for our members and the many volunteers in Team Berlin if we sharpen the full-time structure in the BFV with new responsibilities and synergies."

Structural changes as at March 1, 2026

In order to lay the structural foundation for the development of the Team Berlin strategy, extensive personnel changes in the BFV's main office came into force on March 1, 2026. New contact persons in the BFV main office

The departments and teams are working in the new structures with immediate effect. Necessary handovers and the clarification of new tasks and roles will be carried out during day-to-day business. The initiated change process in the BFV main office should be completed by June 30, 2026. The development of the Team Berlin strategy will then begin in cooperation with the volunteers and the BFV member clubs from July 1, 2026. The BFV will provide information about new developments in relation to the structural changes and the Team Berlin strategy on its website and through its other communication channels.

The structural adjustments will also result in changes to responsibilities and the relevant contact persons. An overview of all employees, which will be updated on an ongoing basis, can be found here: Contact persons at the BFV
