Pfeffersport ice cold

Referee John Aßmann had barely blown the whistle at the An der Dorfkirche pitch when the hosts underlined their ambitions of a home win. They were single-minded in their pursuit of the opposing goal and were keen to make things clear early on against the newly promoted side. The "Kiezkicker" were unimpressed by this in the eighth and 14th minute of the game. Twice, a cross from the left found Jannik Kremer in the middle, who headed the ball into the goal - first with his foot and then with his head - for an early 2:0 lead. At the other end, Luca Lowack hit the crossbar with a direct shot (35') and Oguzhan Codura failed to beat keeper Bonke Andresen with a direct free-kick (45'), meaning the score remained 0:2 at the break.

Marienfeld storming run without reward

The encounter, which was passionate from the outset, resulted in a yellow card for Pfeffersport immediately after the restart for a ball that was knocked away. Marienfelde now visibly sensed their big chance to turn the game in their favor and increasingly took control of the game. However, real top chances to score the final goal were few and far between: promising but ultimately harmless shots with the head (51') and the foot (66', 76') were always saved by the confident Pfeffersport goalkeeper Andresen. At the other end, the visitors, who were short-handed, also had opportunities, but a powerful Grunert shot (58') and a near-head own goal after a long ball into the box (82') failed to find the net. Marienfeld's Jaden Drummond finally put the finishing touches to an intense cup tie with his second shot on target of the day in the 90th minute, after which Pfeffersport earned the victory with the necessary cleverness.

The "Kiezkicker" and all other first round winners will find out who they will face in the 2nd main round after the draw on Thursday evening, August 21.
