SC Staaken crowned German indoor champions

On March 21 and 22, 2026, the DFB Futsal Championships for juniors took place at the Duisburg-Wedau Sports School. After the B-Juniors of 1. FC Union Berlin had already brought the title to Berlin the previous weekend (see review), the B-juniors of SC Staaken now secured a second title for TEAM BERLIN: the U17s of the Spandau club were crowned winners at the end of a captivating tournament and took the trophy back to the capital.

With morale and the will to win to the title

SC Staaken's success at the BFV and NOFV futsal championships had earned them a ticket to Duisburg, where the semi-finalists were initially played in two groups of three. In the opening match of Group B, SC Staaken had to digest a 1-0 deficit in the first minute against SV Heimstetten, but came back impressively and laid the foundation for their later success with a 3-1 victory. A defeat against SV Eichede in the second group game - after trailing 3-0, they came back to 3-2 with strong morale, but ultimately lost 4-2 - did nothing to change the Staaken team's well-deserved semi-final place.

The semi-final against SC Fortuna Köln was a real thriller on the Duisburg pitch. After falling behind in the fifth minute, SC Staaken equalized just one minute later. It was only in the final minute that the Berliners managed to score the lucky punch and the team advanced to the grand final with a 2:1 victory.

"Deserved winner from Berlin"

In the final, SC Staaken were even able to assert themselves with the most commanding victory of the tournament. The team beat SG Germania Wiesbaden 3:0 and were delighted to win the German Futsal Championship after the final buzzer. Staaken player Salko Bogucanin also received a special award as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. "You can be so proud of yourselves - all of you: players, coaches, support staff. We definitely are," the club congratulated its champions on the Instagram platform.

"All futsal regional winners showed their skills in a well-organized tournament and offered good indoor soccer over two days with a deserving winner from Berlin in the U17 age group," summed up Frank Schröder, BFV Presidential Member Youth, after the weekend. The C-juniors of VFC Plauen and the A-juniors of Rostocker FC from the north-east traveled to Duisburg with SC Staaken. The Berlin Football Association warmly congratulates its winning representative and the excellent Berlin keeper.
