The first preliminary rounds of the official BFV Indoor Championships took place in Berlin around Christmas and the turn of the year. Exciting matches were played and the first participating teams for the final rounds in February were determined. However, the action will continue with further preliminary rounds on the weekends of January 10/11 and 17/18, 2026.
16 final round teams have been determined
Flexibility and the ability to improvise were required for the preliminary rounds of the women's, B-junior and D-junior teams. The match days had to be postponed due to the closure of the hall at short notice. However, this did not dampen the atmosphere at the matches. The teams played thrilling matches, with Union Berlin U23, Berolina Mitte, Köpenicker FC, Askania Coepenick, Türkiyemspor Berlin U23 and Friedrichshagener SV qualifying for the final rounds in the women's competition, Union Berlin, Viktoria Mitte, Berolina Mitte, Viktoria Berlin, Hertha BSC and FC Internationale in the B-junior competition and Grün-Weiß Neukölln, Köpenicker FC, Union Berlin and Hansa 07 in the D-junior competition. The games in preliminary round group C for the D-junior girls are still to be played. The matches originally scheduled for January 10 will be played at the Typensporthalle Olympiapark on January 24, 2026 due to the short-term closure of the sports hall at the Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium(fixtures).
However, there was no room for improvisation in the preliminary rounds of the D-juniors. After the first group match day, the Carl-Schuhmann-Sporthalle had to be released to disaster control due to the widespread power outage in south-west Berlin. Fortuna Biesdorf and SF Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf had previously qualified for the final round. The matches in groups two, three and four will be played on the weekend of January 24/25 at the Typensporthalle Olympiapark. More information will follow.
The next preliminary rounds in BFV indoor tournaments will take place on the two preceding weekends. Admission is free.
