The year 2025 is drawing to a close and offers TEAM BERLIN the opportunity to take a look back at challenges, successes, insights, new goals and important topics that have occupied people beyond the boundaries of soccer.
The calendar year was all about innovation and the future. A newly designed BFV website was launched, landmark decisions were made at the association's general meetings and the long-standing reform project "Future BFV" was brought to a conclusion and transferred to the follow-up structure "Team Berlin Strategy 2026 to 2029". The BFV also took an important look back: the results of the study "Geschichte des Berliner Fußballs in der NS-Zeit" (History of Berlin soccer during the Nazi era), which was started for the 125th anniversary of the association in 2022, have been published in the book "Eine Stütze des Systems? Soccer in Berlin under National Socialism". A work that not only provides important, shocking insights into the past of Berlin soccer, but also reminds us why it is of immense importance to resolutely oppose anti-democratic tendencies - a topic that was still topical in 2025 and will continue to occupy us in 2026. It was therefore all the more important that the association took a stand at the beginning of the year with the "Paper on dealing with anti-democratic and extremist parties, groups and actors in the BFV" and, together with the entire TEAM BERLIN, put social issues at the top of the agenda throughout the year - for an open-minded, colorful Berlin and against hatred and discrimination!
