The team led by BFV volunteering officer Ingo Büchner-Fenner and VAR representatives Jürgen Martens, Andreas Schmidt and Frank Lutz-Langer were on hand to answer questions from interested visitors. Contacts were made and arranged and questions about volunteering in club life were answered. There was also a great deal of interest in active opportunities, for example in women's and girls' soccer and for people with disabilities. VAR's club life was also presented in detail to all interested parties and numerous information materials for active membership were distributed. As a result of the volunteer exchange, Berlin soccer can look forward to a pleasing increase in the number of volunteers.
DFB Volunteer Award 2026: Nominate the good soul of your club now!
As we all know, volunteering is not just about recruiting new volunteers, but also about recognition. This year, the DFB has therefore once again traditionally announced the 2026 Volunteer Award to recognize the extraordinary commitment of volunteers in amateur soccer.
The application phase runs until Saturday, May 31, 2025. Volunteers who have made a name for themselves with outstanding achievements in the period from 2023 to 2025 can be nominated for the award by their clubs. The BFV is still looking forward to numerous volunteers from the capital being submitted for the award. All information and the submission form can be found here: Submission DFB Volunteer Award 2026.
