NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THE DFB HONORARY AWARD HERE

With the DFB Volunteer Award and the associated Club 100, the German Football Association (DFB) and its regional associations show their appreciation for the commitment of the approximately 1.7 million volunteers and club employees throughout Germany. The current application phase runs until May 31, 2025.

Proposals for the DFB Volunteer Award

The most important requirements for the award are outstanding achievements in the evaluation period from 2023 to 2025. This means: We would like to recognize in particular volunteer club employees who have achieved something special in the recent past. The task or position the person to be nominated holds in the association is not decisive.

You can find out which other criteria are important for participation and are included in the evaluation in the guidelines . It is important for the application submission that all information is completed in full. Otherwise, an evaluation and inclusion in the selection cannot be guaranteed. The reasons for selection are particularly important for the decision at district level.

This is the honorary award

Since 1997, the DFB, in cooperation with its regional associations, has awarded the "DFB Honorary Award" every year. Each club has the opportunity to nominate highly committed club employees for the award. The county and district volunteer commissioners then select 257 award winners - one from each soccer county - with great sensitivity. The district winners, representing many other outstandingly committed club employees, are honored for their outstanding volunteer work.

All award winners are invited to thank-you weekends, which are organized and carried out by the respective regional associations. During these events, the district winners also receive "DFB honorary certificates and watches". The events each include highly interesting programs, which can include high-profile awards ceremonies, sports policy discussions with celebrities and, for example, visits to Bundesliga matches.

In addition, the one hundred most committed volunteers are selected from all the district winners nationwide and admitted to the DFB's "Club 100" for one year. They will receive an invitation to the official DFB awards ceremony at the German Football Museum in Dortmund. In addition, the members of the "Club 100" are honored separately within their own club - where their daily commitment takes place and recognition is particularly important. As part of this honor at club level, two mini goals, adidas footballs and a symbolic award plaque are presented to the club of:the honoree - a sign that particularly outstanding voluntary work is delivered in this club.
