Intense duels, ten goals in regulation time and the decision in a six-meter thriller: The spectators who made their way to the Werner-Ruhemann-Sporthalle in Schmargendorf on Sunday, 15 June 2025 were treated to nothing less than a downright futsal spectacle. In the final match for the BFV Cup, the team from BSC Eintracht Südring proved to have slightly stronger nerves from the six-meter spot than their opponents from FC Liria Berlin and took the title after a 6:9 final score.
Hot dance on the indoor floor
With outside temperatures of over 30 degrees, the finalists did not, strictly speaking, need futsal fireworks to heat up the crowd in the stands - but that is exactly what Eintracht and FC Liria did. After four minutes, it was Marcus Vinicius de Sousa Vieira who opened the scoring with the first goal of the day. Futsal Bundesliga side Liria were not impressed by this and turned the game around with a quick double strike by Mykola Frunchak (6') and Fabian Schulz (8'). The high tempo of the game did not let up thereafter: Eintracht players Zefanya Darmawan Saputra (9'), Pedro Henrique Pereira Braga Miranda (9') and Michael Kolic (12') scored to make it 2:4 in the meantime, but Liria's Fabian Schulz reduced the deficit to 3:4 with his second goal before half-time.
Anyone expecting the game to take a break after the break was mistaken. In the 23rd minute, Mohammad Ibrahimi quickly equalized for FCL. Both teams played with an open goal and the duels were fought with great intensity. One particularly heated situation ultimately led to sending-offs on both sides. FC Liria were initially able to convert the space on the pitch created by the sending-offs into a goal: Fabian Schulz's third goal gave them a 5:4 lead. Shortly before the end of normal time, Michael Kolic scored again to equalize for Eintracht Südring.
Decision from six meters
A spectacular cup final was thus given two extra five-minute periods. Neither team wanted to make the decisive mistake in extra time and so it remained 5:5. FC Liria had the best chance to score the winning goal in the second half of extra time. As BSC Eintracht committed their sixth team foul, their opponents were awarded a ten-meter penalty, which Amani Moses Katana Shomela failed to score.
The final therefore had to be decided from the spot. Eintracht Südring had the better nerves from six meters - the final score was 6:9 after a penalty shoot-out. After narrowly missing out to the FCL B team in the final last year, the team from Kreuzberg were able to lift the trophy to the roof of the hall this year and crown a strong season in which they finished third in the Regionalliga Nordost.
