A double pass to the license

The inclusive pilot project "Doppelpass" to become a DFB basic coach gives people with intellectual disabilities the chance to enter the DFB's licensing system for the first time. In tandems consisting of one person without a disability and one person with a disability, participants learn the basics of soccer coaching. Both tandem partners receive certification as DFB basic coaches after successful participation. Kathrin Lehmann and Felix Magath are the patrons of the project, which is currently only available in Berlin and Brandenburg. The courses are organized by the Berlin Football Association (BFV), the Brandenburg Football Association (FLB) and the Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Associations (BSB) from both federal states. The project is supported by AOK Nordost.

In terms of content, the "Doppelpass" tandem training course does not differ from the regular DFB basic coach training course, but the way in which the course content is taught has been adapted to meet the needs of the course participants. For example, the "Doppelpass" tandem training course contains fewer online phases and focuses primarily on extended practical blocks, lots of repetition and the use of haptic and visual teaching materials.
