With two brilliant victories, Berlin's U15 boys' team has set itself up for the scouting tournament in Duisburg at the end of the month.
In the absence of the five national team players, who were making their DFB debut against the Netherlands at the same time, Berlin put in an extremely dominant performance in both games.
The Bavarians, who arrived with their promising squad, were able to play well at times, especially in the second game, but were too harmless in front of goal and made too many mistakes, which the Berliners punished with ice-cold penalties. When they did manage a good finish, Leopold in the first game and Milo in the second were on hand to make excellent saves.
The basis for Berlin's success was their dominant play in possession and their high and aggressive pressing. Two direct free-kicks were also scored.
Kenan and Habib from BAK celebrated their debut in the second game and were able to get on the scoresheet straight away. Jannick stood out in both games as the pacemaker of the Berlin attacks.
Association sports coach Rudy Raab was delighted with the performances of his protégés: "We controlled the action in both games and worked very well, especially against the ball. This allowed us to play out our footballing superiority with a lot of possession. In Duisburg, however, stronger opponents will challenge us from the very first game. It will be difficult to nominate 16 players for the DFB scouting tournament, as we have at least twice as many very talented players in Berlin. The boys behind the youth training centers have also done their job very well."
